Norm Architects x Malte Gormsen

Over the years, we have worked closely together with the Norm Architects, bringing bespoke pieces to life for specific projects. Now, carefully selected designs will be included in our curated collection.
With a shared belief in tradition and a sophisticated sense of form, allowing materials and tactility to stand out, the collaboration emphasizes Norm’s soft minimal approach to design as well as our expertise within the crafts.

We have worked with wood for as long as mankind has existed – and it’s the only material that comes back on its own. If we treat it properly, we can continue to have and to work with it. So, we realize how we stand on the shoulders of what has been done in the past. After all, it’s an everlasting search for improvement and that little twist on the same.

Therefore, our approach is to create a few pieces but with the greatest consideration and the utmost respect for the material. Touching a piece of furniture should always be a good experience. After all, that is the entire raison d’etre of the craftsman. We don’t just look at furniture, we touch it.”

wooden MG210 dining table
The sculptural, wooden MG210 dining table was initially created to stand as a magnificent centerpiece in the bright and stone-floored dining room of one of our prior residential projects called Sandbjerg Residence. Now, it has been included in the Malte Gormsen Kollektion and can be made to order in both oak and beech.
Available in both solid oak wood and stone, MG406 is a piece of pure craftsmanship and aesthetic ambition.
The latter serves as a decorative side table, while the wooden version can also be used as a functional stool.
MG305 credenza

Originally designed bespoke for the Dulong Jewelry Store in the heart of Copenhagen, the MG305 credenza was created with a bronzed brass tabletop, adding a contrast to the soft, tactile leather-cladded sides, hiding extensive storage-options.

MG211

Finished in beautiful walnut, Clover Stool (MG211) adds a softness and homeliness within most interiors. The refined furniture piece naturally compliments a muted colour palette and soft materials with its inherent warmth and organic shape.

MG407 sculpture

With its brutalist feel, the large MG407 sculpture adds a sense of scale and contrast to a space. Originally designed bespoke for a jewelry flagship store, the piece was implemented to showcase a delicate interplay with the store’s poetic universe. Now, it will be available in steel, brass, and copper.
