Danish-Singaporean design duo Christian+Jade began their collaboration in 2020, based in Copenhagen. Their interdisciplinary practice balances traditional and contemporary forms of expression and techniques.
The pair continuously seek out the tacit knowledge of craftspeople and fabricators, learning and transforming ways of making and manufacturing to repurpose and see resources anew. Particularly intrigued by archives, archetypes, and artefacts, their projects often utilise contrast and tension to reveal the unknown, recontextualise the familiar, or eschew an expected outcome—of form, function, and materiality.
Informed by the hands and history that shape an object or surface, their works are characterized by a highly individual and tactile formal language that ties together the act of creation, examination and narration.
